For us, the membership is a natural extension of work we have already been doing for years across automotive, performance and motorsport. It also gives us the opportunity to contribute our experience in websites, ecommerce, search visibility, digital marketing and lead generation to a sector we know well.
What is the PAAA?
The Performance Automotive Aftermarket Association represents businesses operating across the UK performance and tuning industry. Its members include companies involved in areas such as:
—performance parts
—vehicle tuning
—manufacturing
—distribution
—suspension
—braking
—motorsport
—specialist automotive services
The association supports the interests of the performance aftermarket and promotes responsible modification, professional standards and constructive engagement around legislation affecting the sector. For businesses operating in a specialist market that is both technically demanding and increasingly regulated, that representation matters.

StuLane is listed alongside our other industry partners and memberships.
Why StuLane joined the PAAA
Automotive has been part of StuLane for a long time. We work with garages, performance specialists, automotive suppliers, race teams and motorsport businesses on everything from websites and ecommerce through to search visibility, marketing strategy and customer acquisition — a selection of which you can see in our work.
Joining the PAAA means we can become more closely involved with the wider industry rather than simply working alongside it.
Stu Lane, Director, StuLane
“The performance aftermarket sector is full of innovative, passionate businesses doing exceptional work.
Joining the PAAA gives us the opportunity to contribute more actively to the industry, support its members and make sure the digital strategies we recommend reflect the realities of the sector.”
What StuLane brings to the association
Our role within the performance automotive industry is slightly different from many PAAA members. We are not manufacturing suspension, building engines or producing performance hardware. Our expertise is in helping the businesses that do those things communicate more effectively and grow online.
That includes:
—automotive website strategy
—ecommerce
—product catalogue structure
—search visibility
—AI search readiness
—content
—lead generation
—social media
—digital advertising
—conversion tracking
—customer journeys
That digital perspective is increasingly important. A technically excellent automotive business can still struggle commercially if customers cannot find it, understand what it offers or easily make an enquiry or purchase online. One of the areas where we hope to contribute is helping specialist automotive companies close that gap.
What this means for StuLane’s automotive clients
PAAA membership is not simply a logo for the footer. Being closer to the industry helps us understand the issues our clients are dealing with. That includes areas such as:
—how performance products are marketed responsibly
—changes affecting modified vehicles
—customer expectations
—ecommerce
—specialist product information
—technical credibility
—trust
—competition within the aftermarket
—changing search behaviour
For our automotive clients, that sector involvement gives us additional context when we’re making recommendations about websites and marketing. We are not approaching the automotive market purely as an outside agency — we understand the people, products and businesses involved.
A digital perspective for PAAA members
Mathew Bedworth of the PAAA welcomed StuLane to the association, highlighting the digital expertise we can bring to members. He said StuLane can provide insight into how automotive companies improve their online presence and make better use of digital services, while contributing to the wider work of supporting and growing the industry.
Mathew Bedworth, PAAA
“It is great to have StuLane become a member of the PAAA as they are able to bring insight into the digital world within the automotive industry. They will be able to show companies how to improve their existing online presense while showing members the services StuLane can provide for them. We look forward to seeing them at the meetings and their support helps keep our industry safe and grow.”
That is an area we are particularly interested in. Many performance businesses have outstanding technical expertise but their websites and digital marketing do not always communicate it properly. We see opportunities around:
—clearer websites
—better product information
—stronger ecommerce
—more useful technical content
—better search visibility
—AI-ready business information
—stronger conversion journeys
—better measurement of marketing activity
The aim is not to turn specialist automotive businesses into generic online retailers. It is to make their real expertise easier to discover and understand.
Built on genuine automotive and motorsport experience
Our involvement with automotive and motorsport did not begin with marketing. Stu’s own background includes racing and long-standing involvement within motorsport, which has helped shape the agency’s understanding of the sector.
Aaron Reeve of AREEVE Performance, a fellow PAAA member and long-standing StuLane client, explained why that matters:
Aaron Reeve, AREEVE Performance · PAAA member
“Stu and I met on the track racing together about ten years ago, and we’ve worked closely ever since. He’s been involved in British Touring Cars and has genuine hands-on experience in motorsport, so his understanding of the performance automotive industry runs deep. Today, StuLane manages all of our marketing, and that real-world background makes a difference — they understand the sector properly, not just from the outside. They’re a strong addition to the PAAA and will be a valuable asset to the group.”
That combination of automotive experience and digital knowledge is something we believe is particularly valuable when working with specialist businesses.
Why specialist knowledge matters in automotive marketing
The performance aftermarket is not an industry where generic marketing always works well. Products can be highly technical. Customers are often knowledgeable. Fitment matters. Terminology matters. Legislation matters. Reputation matters. And enthusiasts can normally tell very quickly when a company does not understand the subject.
That is why we believe the best automotive marketing starts with understanding the actual business:
—What does it make?
—What does it fit?
—Who buys it?
—How is it used?
—What technical information does the customer need?
—What makes that company genuinely different?
Only then should you decide how the website, content, search strategy or advertising should work.
Looking ahead
Joining the PAAA gives us another opportunity to work more closely with manufacturers, distributors, tuning specialists and other businesses across the UK performance aftermarket. We are looking forward to contributing where our digital experience can be useful, learning from other members and supporting the continued development of the sector.
For StuLane, it is also another step in something we have been building for a long time: a marketing agency that understands automotive businesses from the inside, not simply as another industry category.
Work with an agency that understands automotive
If you run a performance automotive business, garage, parts supplier or specialist workshop, your website and marketing need to reflect the expertise behind the business.
We can review your current website and identify practical opportunities to improve visibility, trust, ecommerce and lead generation.
Low pressure, as ever
